Hmmm, that's a nice way to start off the trip, huh? Thanks for the picture Sarah!
Its tradition, duh. There's a little bit of Cinnamon Spice and HoneyBee for ya right there. LIVIN THE THUG LIFE!
Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful....
And there's me, the ever present blogger, hard at work, to finish out the picture parade.
There is just something about the beach. I told my mom when we got there and were out on the sand, "I am taking my kids to the beach every single summer. Hopefully more than once." Seriously, I love it there. We go to Emerald Isle, which is still pretty small and not overly populated, like other beachs are now. There was pretty much no one there the three days that we were, just how I like it. It was just really awesome to get to go one more time before summer is over, and school starts back up, (which is rapidly approaching more and more each day.) It was the last relaxing period of the summer, especially with the wedding coming up this weekend, then getting shoved right into school. Speaking of the wedding, I will be extremely busy with that this weekend, so I don't know if I'm going to be able to post. I promise I will have tons and tons of pictures when it's all over though! Back to the beach. We had a really great time, despite the last day when it started raining in the afternoon, then stopped long enough for us to go lay out on the beach, then started again right after we set our stuff down. We layed out for about ten minutes, then had about enough of that. I cannot say it enough, I LOVE THE BEACH!
Last note. My family has been watching the Democratic Convention this week, which I know sounds boring, but it actually wasn't, and I have a few things to say about it. Here is my list.
- I will never, ever, wear a pantsuit. Especially not in Halloween orange. Though, I have to add, "Sisterhood of the traveling Pantsuits" was quite clever. Not clever enough to pull me over to the dark side, however. Sorry Hillary.
- Those people that hand out the signs to every body in the stadium, which is like a cajillion people mind you, must be magical. If not, they should be making way past minimum wage. One minute, the guy with the mustache and is holding a blue "Yes We Can!" sign, the next minute he is holding one of those huge triangle things that says "CLINTON." HOW DO THEY DO IT!?!?!?!
- Why would you name your child Bo (I know that is not how he spells it, I just can't remember the right way,) when your name is Joe. I do not understand that.
- Barack Obama's girls are adorable. How could you not fall in love with that family? So cute!
- I like listening to speeches, especially ones that say stuff like, "No way, no how, no McCain!" Woot Woot. I really liked Michelle Obama's speech too.
- I wish I could vote, because there would be a check next to Barack Obama's name. I honestly believe he is what is best for this country. His speech was moving, but that wasn't it. He spelled out what he will do to change this country, and how we as citizens have to be a part of that. If he becomes President, he will hold American's accountable. Go Obama!
There you go, a run down of what has been happening in the spicy life of a ginger kid. If I don't get to post this weekend, expect my next post to be full of wedding pictures! The one after that will be school pictures, AHHH! Please pray for my entire family this weekend, as we all enter a new chapter in our lives. Dad is getting married to Dana, who is a wonderful woman, and we are getting an awesome stepbrother, Spenser. It is still a very stressful time though, for all of us, including my mom and all of Dana's family. Smooshing two families together isn't easy, but it is God's plan for us, and it seems to be going ok so far :) So please pray for all of us this weekend, and the craziness that is ahead!
P.S.- It is 1:30. Sarah just started the vacuum upstairs and I swear I thought it was a chainsaw. Maybe I need to go to bed.
